It took me 6 months to decide on what i wanted, I ordered directly from pitboss and it came on a small pallet so no damage that was a big concern. I'm extremely happy with this Smoker easy setup, works great especially on overnight cooks and lots of room, these vertical smokers are so much easier to clean up compared to a pellet grill.
I had tried twice to get a pit boss vertical smoker through Home Depot only to have them arrive damaged due to inadequate packaging. But I smoke Chinook salmon and really wanted the features pit boss offered so I ordered a different model, the Navigator 3 series directly from pit boss. There’s a night and day difference between the packaging, it arrived in much better packaging and thankfully undamaged. The quality of workmanship is good and seems very well thought out in the design stage. The assembly instructions were good and I really loved that the screws were pre sorted and blister packed according to; pitch, diameter, and length. That saved me time. I have done the initial burn and it controlled the temperature well. I will review more once I have slow smoked a few Chinook salmon in it.
